About HantaTracker
What HantaTracker is
A faithful aggregator of official Andes-virus (Orthohantavirus andesense) reports — the one hantavirus species with documented human-to-human transmission, and therefore the one with cluster / multi-country outbreak risk. Source-fidelity over speed. Confirmed and suspected cases visually distinct and never summed. No engagement mechanics. No alarmism. Every figure on the site is reconstructable from the public GitHub repository. See the methodology for the full scope rationale.
What HantaTracker is not
- Not medical advice.
- Not a surveillance system.
- Not affiliated with WHO, CDC, ECDC, PAHO, or any national health authority.
- Not a forecaster — we do not publish R₀ or other modelled values unless they come from a Tier-1 source.
How to read this site
Start with the methodology — it explains source prioritisation, confidence labels, and the correction policy. The sources page lists every authority we draw from. The corrections page is the public record of figures we got wrong.
