# About HantaTracker

HantaTracker is a faithful, source-fidelity aggregator of official hantavirus reports. Every figure on the site links to a Tier-1 official source: WHO, CDC, ECDC, or PAHO.

## What this is

A read-only dashboard for hantavirus surveillance. Confirmed and suspected cases are tracked separately and never summed. The world map fills only with confirmed cases. Country-level rows must carry a Tier-1 figure whose reporting period extends into Q3 2025 or later.

## What this is not

- Not medical advice.
- Not a real-time surveillance system.
- Not modelled estimates. R₀, transmission claims, and vaccine status are quoted verbatim from Tier-1 publishers; if a Tier-1 source has not published it, we show "Not established".

## Open data

All aggregated data is published as JSON under [/data/](https://hantatracker.net/data/cases_global.json) and licensed under [CC-BY 4.0](https://hantatracker.net/llms-full.txt). Code is MIT.

## Editorial constraints

- Two-person review for any death count, human-to-human transmission claim, R₀, vaccine claim, WHO risk-level change, or correction affecting historical figures.
- Single-person review for routine case-count updates from existing Tier-1 sources.
- Snapshots in /snapshots/YYYY-MM-DD/ are immutable after the day they were written.
- See [Methodology](https://hantatracker.net/methodology.md) for the full editorial workflow.
